These cabinets are decorated by hand with gold leaf before being painted so each one is in some way unique. Cabinets like our red version seen here, were usually finished in red or black lacquer, often gilded and usually painted with landscapes, family valuables or, as in our model, scenes of children at play. Our painted Chinese cabinets are reproductions of the wonderful furniture that was produced in Shanxi province in north central China for centuries. Use one as a statement piece in a living room or dining room, or as a TV cabinet – we can make custom sizes if you have a large television. The cabinet has three removable shelves inside and two small drawers. Note that, as each piece is decorated and painted by hand, there can be some slight variation from the examples shown here. The cabinet can also be made to order in black lacquer or cream lacquer, or in other finishes on request.
