This impressive, large cabinet would once have been used for storing clothes, fabrics and other possessions in a Chinese home. It has been restored and given a new lease of life with a shiny grey green distressed lacquer. Intricate lattice diamond carvings extend over the full length of each door, with a larger diamond incorporating a floral design set centrally, adding an unusual decorative element to the cabinet. Fitted on wooden dowels directly into the cabinet’s frames, the two doors extend out fully to give access to the interior, which holds two removable shelves. Beneath the doors are three shallow drawers, each also decorated with a diamond shape set centrally and fitted with a simple brass handle. Perfect today for bedroom or living room storage or even as a free standing kitchen cabinet.
